The California Judicial Center Library in San Francisco is seeking Assistant Law Librarians I/II to deliver service in the Research & Reference Services unit of the library, in the Special Collections & Archives unit, or in both units. The Research & Reference Services unit performs the full range of duties associated with the delivery of research and reference services, including but not limited to: responding to reference inquiries and conducting legal research using print and digital resources; providing individual instruction in the use of digital and print resources directly or by engaging vendors and others to provide individual or court-wide training sessions; managing logins and passwords to enable court users’ access to online resources; conducting library tours and orientations; developing bibliographies, research guides and databases; and designing/updating Web-based information resources for the library’s website. The Special Collections unit performs the full range of duties associated with the acquisition, assessment, arrangement, description and processing of original sources for the study of California legal history, including textual materials and objects donated by members of the California Supreme Court and others. They assist with research and respond to inquiries from the public regarding the collections. They also prepare finding aids and participate in the design and implementation of exhibits for San Francisco and Los Angeles locations.
